In 2004 I graduated from Berea College with a Bachelor of Arts in biology. I was then selected for the Health Professional Scholarship Program in the United States Army and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant. My next stop was the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry where I received my doctorate in dental medicine in 2008 and was subsequently commissioned as a Captain. My first duty station was Fort Bragg in Fayetteville, North Carolina where I was selected to attend the Army’s prestigious 2-year advanced education in general dentistry (AEGD). Upon graduation from residency we were assigned to Fort Wainwright, Alaska. In 2012 I achieved Board Certification with the American Board of General Dentistry (ABGD) and I was also honored by the Academy of General Dentistry when I was named a Fellow (FAGD) in their organization. While at Fort Wainwright I served as the officer in charge of one of the largest dental clinics in Alaska and was responsible for the dental care of close to 7000 soldiers. In June 2014 I was promoted to Major and also completed all of my military obligation with the Army. Elisabeth and I decided that it was time to move back to Kentucky to be closer to family and the friends we missed so much. Elisabeth (formerly Hampton) Hardy and I are married with 4 beautiful children. Elisabeth is graduated from the University of Kentucky and worked as a physician assistant before becoming a full-time mom. Our oldest daughter Catherine is 7 years old and loves to dance and is very eager to start kindergarten this fall. James is 5 and is our only boy. He loves to be a superhero and kick the soccer ball. Our next youngest is Claire, age 4, and she is our daredevil and also loves to giggle. Rachel is our youngest one at 3 years old and loves doing anything that her big brother and sisters are doing.
